Doug Blum Double Calla Lily Ceramic Table Lamp

A delightful, sculptural table lamp by potter and artist Doug Blum, depicting the sumptuous shapes of the calla lily. This double lily lamp is quite special; the sinous ceramic stems flow into blooming porcelain calla lilies. The artist's touch, quite literally, is imprinted into each piece, with his thumb prints marking each petal. Each calla lily accomodates a single bulb to create a whimsical piece of lighting. The neutral tones of the unglazed ceramic and the translucent porcelain blooms invite a warm ambience into the space when lit. It is wired with a three way switch to provide different shades of mood lighting. The translucent porcelain shades cast an amber to pink hue when illuminated. .Signed Blum at the base of the lamp.
 
 
DOUG BLUM: Blum is well-known as a masterful American craft artist. Since 1973, he has exhibited his work at many of the top juried craft shows held throughout the country. For the past five decades, Blum's innovative style and unique glazing method has brilliantly shown through his pottery ware, lamps, sculptures and tiled wall hangings. Nonetheless, his contemporary and traditional art forms always reflect the nuances of the time.
