Italian Travertine Elephant Bookends by Cerri Nestore, 1970s
A charming and elegant pair of Italian Rapolano travertine elephant bookends by Cerri Nestore. Minimalist in style, with soft curves and striking lines, they may be used as bookends or they can be displayed as works of art on their own. Both pieces are weighty and beautifully tactile, featuring a gorgeous marbling and distinctive natural pattern of holes and crevices typical of unfilled travertine. Circa 1970s.
CERRI NESTORE & C.: Cerri Nestore's distinctive items are frequently made of travertine and are designed with extraordinary care. Cerri Nestore pieces were produced in Volterra, about 35 miles from Florence, Italy, and often using travertine from the quaint village of Rapolano Terme, in the heart of the Province of Siena. Similar to pieces by Fratelli Mannelli.
