Sculptural Hammered Iron Candlestick Trio by Jack Brubaker, 1989-90

A rare and beautiful trio of brutalist hammered iron candlesticks by artist Jack Brubaker. Each candlestick is hand-forged and, therefore, unique. Placed at varying heights, each features an elegantly shaped lily pad and handsome patina. All are signed J. Brubaker at bottom, 1989-90.  


JACK BRUBAKER (l944 - ) Jack Brubaker has been a full-time artist-blacksmith since 1970. He has taken the ancient art of blacksmithing and transformed it into a beautiful world of modern art. His forge in Indiana is secluded in 60 acres of hills and forest. He has exhibited extensively in North America and in Europe, and his pieces can be seen in personal collections across the nation. Jack has demonstrated for both the Artist Blacksmith Association of North America (ABANA) and the British Artist Blacksmith Association (BABA), He has presented a slide lecture on his work at the First World Congress of Artist Blacksmiths in Aachen, Germany. In 1984 he served ABANA as president and has been on the boards of various national and local arts organizations. His kinetic sculpture was included in the Friedrichshafen Exhibition of Forged Sculpture in Germany. Jack’s work is in many collections, including those of Joseph Hirshhorn, Ali McGraw, and others.
